Vehicle Brakes
Vehicle braking systems accross all motor vehicles operate within a similar manner, thus being the displacement of kinetic energy (movement) into heat (friction) which in turn actions the braking system on your vehicle.
The braking system on your vehicle consists of vital components required to assist in the safe and efficient braking of your vehicle. Brake systems require a very strict maintenance policy at all times. Parts and components such as brake pads, shoes, discs and drums all require regular checking and adjustment at frequent intervals as failure of a braking component on your vehicle can have serious consequences.
With the manufacturers extended service intervals being as much as 30,000 miles in some cases, it is vitally important that at each service your vehicles braking components such as brake pads and shoes have enough service life to maintain your vehicles braking performance both safely and efficiently up until your next service.
At Autocare, our trained techicians are fully familiar with the service and maintainance routines required for safe operation of your braking system on all cars and commercial vehicles.
Autocare Motorist tips
Brake fluid is often the most overlooked component in any vehicles braking system, brake fluid is hydroscopic which in laymans means it absorbs moisture from the air. After a certain length of time brake fluid will become contaminated and add to the inefficiency or complete failure of a vehicles braking system. We advise on all vehicles that the fluid is changed every 24 months.
