Clutch
A vehicle clutch is a mechanical link between the engine and the vehicle gearbox. It transmits the drive element from the engine to the gearbox and essentially the driven road wheels.
By use of a clutch the transmission of any vehicle can be controlled e.g for controlled movement in a vehicle including pulling away, changing gear and stopping of the vehicle.
In recent years dual mass flywheels often also need replacing at the same time as the clutch. This is due to the fact that they wear in a similar manner to that of the main clutch assembly.
At Autocare we can offer cost effective clutch replacements by our fully trained technicians to all major manufactureres vehicles.
Autocare Motorist Tip
When stationary at traffic lights or junctions etc always try to remember to take the vehicle out of gear and release the clutch pedal, this ensures less wear and tear on the clutch assembly thus prolonging the overall service life of the clutch components.
