Exhausts & Catalytic Converters
Exhausts provide the facility to ‘vent’ poisonous gases to the rear of the vehicle ensuring the safety of the vehicles occupants.
Exhausts comprise of several components including Catalytic Converters and silencers.
Catalytic converters are used to lessen the toxicity of the harmful gases omitted from within a vehicles engine. The catalytic converter therefore operates as a ‘exhaust filter’ storing harmful chemicals produced during engine combustion.
Exhaust silencers are used to lessen the noise impact upon our environment by means of a noise baffling system incorporated within the exhaust silencer box. The exhaust pipes are used to provide means for the harmful gases to exit at the rear of a vehicle.
At Autocare we can supply and fit a comprehensive range of exhaust systems and catalytic converters from most modern vehicle manufacturers.
Autocare Motorist Tip
Many vehicle ‘aftercare/ fast fit’ centres offer the supply and fit of vehicle exhaust systems, however, in our experience we have found many discrepancies in the quality fitting of certain exhaust components. Most repairs to modern vehicles require exhaust systems and catalytic converters to be fitted by qualified technicians. Please ensure when you have a requirement for an exhaust component to be replaced that you have this work undertaken by qualified technicians such as ourselves.
